Solar makes a lot of sense, but does it have to look unattractive on your house?

Chandler's Roofing, Inc. uses One Roof Energy, the most aesthetically pleasing solar roofing products possible.  In fact, in many cases, we will be able to use BIPV solar panels which are designed to integrate seamlessly into your roof…even blending in with your specific tile colors if you have a tile roof!

No matter what kind of roof you have – tile or asphalt, flat or pitched, we have a good-looking solution.

When your roofing company installs solar roofing, it generates clean electricity…absorbing sunlight and converting it to DC electricity. The DC electricity is directed to an inverter located next to your utility meter, and the inverter converts it to everyday AC electricity. This is the same form of power you buy from the utility and use throughout your home.

When the sun is shining, your home uses power from both the solar system and the utility. At night, your electricity comes entirely from the utility.By mixing the two energy supplies, you’re able to avoid paying the top-dollar, premium rates charged by the utility for some of your kilowatt usage each month.

1. The Solar Roofing

These convert the sunlight into DC electricity. If your roof is optimal for solar tiles, they can also serve as a roofing material.  If not,  we can incorporate sleek solar panels that sit on top of a roof.

2. The Inverter

A small box, about 2×3 feet, that sits next to your main service panel. It converts DC electricity to AC.

3. The Utility meter

The solar system connects to your main service panel, which allows you to draw less power from the utility…your meter slows down. At night, you still get all your power from the utility.

4. Monitoring

Our limited performance guarantee includes 24/7 remote monitoring. We’ll make sure everything’s running properly, and you can check on your system’s performance.

If you’ve ever leased a car or thought about leasing one, that’s very similar to how the SolarSelect® Lease works. Instead of paying for the solar system outright, you’ll be leasing it, and making low monthly payments.

Many people don’t realize this, but utility companies charge more per kilowatt, as you use more energy. So by replacing some of your energy with solar energy, you’re reducing the amount of kilowatts you buy from your utility company – and you’re paying lower rates.

In other words, the amount you pay for the energy from OneRoof Energy will be lower than the premium rates you’d otherwise be paying your utility company.

Every month, you’ll simply make your OneRoof Energy lease payment, and all the energy produced by the system is yours.

You’ll still be buying some of your energy from your utility company. But because it’ll be a reduced amount, you’ll pay a lower amount than a comparable home that does not have our SolarSelect® Lease.

The other great thing about getting our SolarSelect® Lease from your roofing company is you can decide what you want your payment to be for the solar energy system…based on how much you want to pay up front.

If you’d like to pay nothing up front and just make your monthly lease payments, that’s fine.  If you’d rather put some money down and have the payments adjusted downward, that’s fine too.

The whole point is to give you options and flexibility.  You won’t have to tie up a big chunk of your money with buying a system – so you’ll have more cash to use on other expenses every month…or just to spend on your family and enjoy life.

And by leasing the system, you don’t have any of the burden or worry about maintaining the system – we’ll take care of all of that.

Here are some of the questions we get asked a lot.  And, of course, if there’s something else you’d like get answered or talk with us about, feel free to contact us.

Will it work on my type of roof?
Yes. No matter what kind of roof you have – tile or asphalt, flat or pitched – we have a system that’ll work for you.

How does billing work?
Every month, you will receive a statement from OneRoof Energy. You’ll never have to worry about sending in a payment, thanks to our automatic bill pay options. Since you will still be getting some of your energy from the utility company, you will continue to receive a bill from them, based on your lower usage.

How long is the lease agreement and can I buy the system if I want?
The agreement is for 20 years. And yes, if you’d like to buy it, you’ll have buyout options starting in the 7th year, for the amount specified in your lease agreement.

What if my system isn’t working properly?
We’ll take care of any maintenance or repair issues that come up. As part of our performance guarantee, we continually monitor the performance of the system 24/7, and we service and maintain the system at no cost to you for the entire length of the lease. If there are any problems caused by normal wear and tear with the system, we repair or replace it… at our expense, not yours.

What happens if I sell my house at some point?
You have a couple of options. You can transfer the lease agreement to the new owner; after all, there’s a very good chance the buyer of your home will want to continue enjoying the benefits of solar (and it’s probably one of the many things they like about your house). Assuming they meet our credit requirements, the lease payments simply get transferred over to them. Another option for you: as we mentioned above, at any time starting in the 7th year of leasing the system, you can purchase the system outright, and pass on the investment to the new buyer by including it in your home’s selling price.

What happens at the end of the lease agreement?
You can do one of three things. You can either purchase the system, decide to extend your lease agreement for additional years, or simply ask us to remove the system. It’s entirely up to you.

Have more questions? Just ask!
